"We developed the initial prototype in the middle of 1990's, but the patented system we're now using is suited to an ISRI seat which has integrated adjustable suspension decreasing to slow the seat suspension down, while a seat isolator reduces the forward and back jarring," he said.
"This seat was also chosen as it's the only one in manufacturing to our knowledge that reclines. Some other producers have tried to start the 'T' back rests, but their seats are non-reclining and this causes an issue when operators need to adjust it for ease
"We're really thankful with our current design, and already the response we've gained has been very good, and in particular, that it's reducing incidents and stress."
Mr Spouge claims that as well as improving operator convenience and security, the lumbar support also helps to improve seat life by reducing wear and tear and motivating right posture.
"Thus, the features are huge, either for the operator and also the employer," he added.
MMT's core market niche is the supply, installation and servicing of premium suspension seats and seating items to the WA mining, building, construction, engineering and transport sectors.
The firm is Western Australia's only authorized company and repairer for German manufacturer ISRI, which is widely recognized as the producer of the world's most highly developed driver and passenger seating products.
